Let’s start by talking about running. A habit I first developed in May 2020. By now, I’d have thought I might’ve been out doing regular trail runs… But still, I’m pounding the roads and local pavement, for the most part. I made a very good start to July but, as has been the theme more recently, that routine of running has faded.
I do intend to try and reinstate it and I still maintain that the act of cycling to and from work most days is depleting the energy I might otherwise spend on foot. There were two weeks at the end of July where I didn’t once cycle to or from work and this was mostly because of the extreme heat for one particular week and our lack of familiarity and comfort with this, born and bred in the UK.
All of those walks on the list and I’ve only taken photos on two of them. Both of which were done solo… I’m a bit tired of walking overly-familiar local routes. But I did manage to organise and lead a midweek evening group walk for three consecutive weeks. Four walks, if you’ll include my first with Brunel for 2021. I’d like to do two more but, we’ll see.
I received my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine in the middle of the month and carried on out for a short walk afterwards.
There hasn’t been an awful lot to write about for July. I skipped one weekend, due to the heat and it appears as though the rest of the time was largely spend seeking shelter from the elements.
Current total for 2021 = 570.25 miles
