Let’s get the L-word out of the way – this was my first walk in the wake of Lockdown 3.0. One the very day in which some restrictions were officially relaxed. Again.
I’d decided to keep it fairly local; keeping to the Mendip Hills. I would return to walk another leg of the West Mendip Way.

It’s been a month since I last wrote about my mileage (for June) and now it’s time to write about July! April was our first full month in Lockdown and, for the UK, it may prove to be our only month, if the speculation is to be believed right now. I’ve been ‘furloughed’ (off work and in receipt of 80% of my basic wage) all throughout but have managed to keep myself relatively active. Flat walks and short distances from my doorstep, where the hills are hard to find.

This was it; my first experience of leading a group walk in 2018.
I knew the route well, had arranged a place for parking and kept it to a challenging but not over-the-top ten-miles… There was a reasonably good forecast to go with it.
