This week’s #adventureprompts piece is all about an adventure that didn’t go as according to plan… Which for me, is going to describe my first proper “adventure” as an adult. I thought I’d written about this before but cannot find it on these pages.

North Nibley and Stinchcombe Hill

This walk finished only a handful of hours before the state of ‘Lockdown’ was thrust upon the UK (even if the government aren’t naming it as such). At the time, it was debatable whether I should be driving forty-five minutes from home to go for a walk; now, it’s clear that I shouldn’t.
This will almost certainly be the last decent walk I’ll have done for many weeks. It was also a chance to discover a few miles of the Cotswold Way that I hadn’t seen before.
Exmoor: Dunster and Around

This would be my first walk on Exmoor proper since all the way back in February, when I helped someone explore the National Park for the very first time and led them to the highest point in all of Somerset.
That is excluding a walk I did more recently along the coast path because, although it does cross Exmoor, I consider it to be more of a ‘coastal’ scene that anywhere close to the heart of the moorland.

I recently spent some time in Dorset, with three nights of camping and four days for walking around that. It was my first visit to the coastal part of the county since Easter 2016. When in Dorset, what else is one to do but walk another stretch of the South West Coast Path?
