This week’s #adventureprompts piece is all about an adventure that didn’t go as according to plan… Which for me, is going to describe my first proper “adventure” as an adult. I thought I’d written about this before but cannot find it on these pages.
Having now booked a week off work, it’s pretty much official that I’ll be walking the Cleveland Way National Trail in June 2020.
In this post, I’ll be looking at my plans and daily itinerary for tackling the trail. With three months to go and this being a part of the country I’ve not previously explored, a lot could change between now and then!

This was the first in what was intended to be a five-day backpacking expedition along The Ridgeway National Trail.
From the start of the trail at Overton Hill, I follow The Ridgeway for twenty-three miles as far as White Horse Hill, from which I would descend to reach my campsite for the night.
